Illa organique by Jean-Raphaël Hébrard, between tradition and modernity

Designed in the late 1970s by the architect Jean-Raphaël Hébrard, this villa is part of a subtle dialogue between modernist architecture and local construction tradition. Nestled in the heart of a 6,000 m² wooded plot with swimming pool, it enjoys an unobstructed view of the Pyrenean peaks.

Developed on nearly 290 m² and two levels, the house follows the lines of the land and unfolds in a remarkable fluidity:

Entrance with cloakroom opening onto a large living space of 70 m², composed of a living room with fireplace and built-in furniture, a dining room and a dining kitchen with pantry. An office and a small extra bedroom complete this level.

The large sliding windows extend the space to panoramic terraces, facing the landscape.

The night area includes a total of 5 bedrooms:

1 master suite on the ground floor with a sublime very vintage bathroom and which opens onto a patio,

1 suite and additional bathroom upstairs,

A games room / large office, as well as 3 bedrooms, and shower room on the garden level, still with access to the outside.

A garage and an independent workshop complete the set.

The interiors are distinguished by the use of oblique lines that stretch the volumes, energize the perspectives and naturally guide the eye to the landscape. The circulations are integrated into the living spaces, offering exemplary fluidity and conviviality.

Outside, the tiled roofs, the solid wood frameworks and the terraces evoke a certain know-how of construction, revisited by a free and refined modernist writing.
The low, tiered silhouette is discreetly anchored in the relief, underlining the coherence between architecture and site.

A unique achievement, where the modernist spirit combines with the warmth of traditional materials, for a timeless house in the heart of a privileged environment.
